There are a variety of different ways to get here and new routes are being added all the time, making it even easier. The information below is intended as a guide and is subject to change, and does not cover all the options. Easyjet run daily flights from Paris CDG to Bastia, and four flights a week from Lyon. From late April onwards Easyjet also fly direct to Corsica every Sunday from the UK, from London Gatwick, Bristol and Manchester to Bastia. One of the most economic ways to fly from other parts of the UK is to get a low-cost flight to Paris CDG and then fly Easyjet to Bastia.

There are numerous low-cost and scheduled airlines flying to mainland France from the UK, Ireland, Norway, Sweden, Austria, Germany, Holland, Denmark, Switzerland, Belgium, Spain, Italy, Slovakia, Hungary and other European countries. Which Budget shows who flies from where. For those vacationing from further afield, there are of course regular flights to France from numerous airports in Canada, the United States, Australia and New Zealand to name just a few!

Another popular option is to fly to Pisa in Italy, hire a car and take the ferry from Livorno to Bastia. Also quite often guests have enjoyed a night or two in Nice or Paris en route.

During the season there are direct charter flights on a Sunday from various UK airports to Calvi and Bastia (operators include Thomsonfly).

There is a taxi rank at Calvi airport, and we provide directions in French to give to the driver. Fares are approximately €20 each way.

Many people like to take the ferry, whether they are bringing their own car or travelling on foot. It’s certainly a pleasant way to travel with plenty of room to move about and lots to keep the kids occupied. And arriving in Calvi by sea is an experience not to be forgotten.

Passenger and car ferries operate from ports in both France and Italy, the fastest route being from Nice to Calvi in under 3 hours. Calvi port is only 5 minutes away, Ile Rousse is half an hour, and Bastia port is a two hour drive. The ferries are operated by SNCM, Corsica Ferries and Mobylines. Another popular route is to take the ferry from Livorno to Bastia.

A relaxing way to get here would be to take the train through France. The TGV train now takes only 3 hours from Paris to Marseilles, you can see full routes and timetables at Rail Europe.

Due to the central location of Casa Paradis, car hire is a choice, not a necessity. Taxis are available from Calvi airport (approx €20), and if you prefer we would be happy to pre-book a taxi for you. There is also the train for exploring the coast, and coach excursions inland are also available. You can see train timetables and other information at Corsica Bus.

If you do choose to rent a car, it is usually better value to book it in advance through a site such as Auto Europe or Holiday Autos. The major car rental companies Europcar, Hertz and Avis have offices at the airport and in Calvi. Motorbikes and mopeds can also be rented at the airport and in town. Alternatively a range of quality cycles for all ages can be rented from the garage of the house, as can a few quiet, modern scooters.

There is free on-street parking, and a paying car park a couple of minutes walk away (€5 per day).
